If anyone will ever compile a ranking of the EU's lamest statements, this one should top the charts. Here the Commission doesn't even commit to saying that AI-powered bots on social media SHOULD be covered in the risk assessments under the DSA, just that they could.

This didn't age very well! Commissioner McGrath replied to MEPs defending the AI Liability Directive on the same day the Commission decided to withdraw it! "Legal certainty regarding liability is important for reducing risks and encouraging businesses... to invest in AI."
