there's a huge amount of music that can't/won't be uploaded to streaming services due to licensing issues, uncleared samples, etc. - for many, it's more about actually owning your music since, while uncommon, music can disappear from streaming at any time

check out navidrome! i used to use plex but it's really obvious that it's made for tv/movies and not music. navidrome is a media server for music, and it has a lot of frontends to choose from - i recommend feishin - whether you're listening from mobile or a pc :)
