Today visited Vat Had Siew, one of #luangprabang ‘s most interesting forest temples. It is undergoing some serious renovation work to prevent total collapse. Having stopped the outer walls from falling they are now working to stabilise the foundations.

Standing in the centre of Luang Prabang this magnificent wooden house built in the 1920's was once the home of Queen Mother Khamfan (1896-1983), mother of the last king Sisavang Vatthana. It is now used as a library. UNESCO#405

This Buddha image at Wat That Luang, Luang Prabang, is of Khmer origin, probably dating from around 12th century. The Imperial Khmer Road extended from Angkor as far as Luang Prabang.
