Shout out to the party gameplay, that was cool to see. I can see why people like this one less than the first. Some of the dungeons were rough esp with random encounters every few steps. Really liked how open ended this one felt. This was super ambitious for the time

Loved experiencing one of the first JRPGs. First time finishing a DQ game too! The game is simple but very charming. I’m quite impressed that there were so many out of combat spells in the first iteration. Really excited to check out the remake.

11 - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4
THPS3 was my favorite one while growing up. Getting to replay that with additional goals was fantastic! On the other hand, I never played 4 so I didn’t have nostalgia for it. Wasn’t really a fan of the levels, I’ll have to try the OG at some point.

10 - Mario Kart World
This game is a lot of fun online but the cup format is pretty boring in this game despite the difficult cpu. I really hope they do some dlc that returns to the older 3 lap format. The new movement shines on the courses but falls flat on the transitions.

I felt like this game was made for me. Absolutely loved it! Finished the story after about 30 hours played and I’m now sitting with about 50 hours with a bunch of cleanup still to do. I really hope this gets a beefy expansion. Might go check out the original on the 3DS

I tried this when it came out and stopped in Chapter 2. I tried it again when directors cut hit gamepass and stopped in Chapter 5. I just tried it again because the second one looks really interesting. Ended up doing just the main quests and really enjoyed my time. Crazy Story!

7 - Expedition 33
The first game I finished this year was Metaphor Refantazio and I thought that would easily be my favorite turn-based RPG that I’d play this year. Expedition 33 might take that spot. Such a great game and a fantastic entry point to the genre 🔥
