These rosebuds all came from a single 18” stem of a Cecile Brunner rose that is apparently intent on ending the growing season with a flourish. 🌱

I’ve got a new flower bed that I’m filling with red-flowering plants and these zinnias have done stupendously well. Can’t wait for next year after the perennials have had a chance to get settled in. 🌱

Homemade lavender honey ice cream (color artificially enhanced). It is as delicious as it is pretty. 😋

Yep, looks like what I remember (fewer campers and more tents in my experience, though).

Today I learned that monarch caterpillars come in absolute units. I’m pretty sure these 2 can be seen from space. 🌱

I took this picture yesterday evening, so technically this zinnia was on time for Tongues Out Tuesday. 😛 🌱

Yo, Blueskiers in the Louisville NWS region, NOAA weather radio is offline tonight, so find another way to keep apprised of the forecasted severe weather:

In other news, I met this young fellow this morning. It seemed to have adopted the same “Maybe if I freeze she won’t see me” strategy as the baby rabbit from the other day. I do hope it gets to shelter before the storms hit.

Naturally, my peonies would start to open the very day we’re forecast to get severe weather, including an elevated risk of very large hail, damaging winds, and possible EF2+ tornadoes. 🌱

This is literally the proof of delivery photo FedEx sent me a few minutes ago.

You know spring is here when the bugs start showing up. I’ve even been seeing bumblebees in my lilac. 🙂🐝🌱

Redbud! Daffodils! Hellebores! Crocus!

I LOVE spring, and after not being able to garden much the past 2 years I am especially excited for this year. 🌱

My first blooms of 2025! As evidence of what a rough winter we’ve had this year, I took similar pictures on 2/26/2024 and 2/16/2023. 🌱

Besides being Daytona Day (go Bubba Wallace! 2️⃣3️⃣ 🤘🏻✌🏻🏁), it’s also an excellent day for Brunswick stew. 🍜
