Minnesotans are rightly concerned with the presence of federal agents in our cities, especially as multiple U.S. citizens have been arrested.

Our administration remains committed to safeguarding the civil liberties of all in Minnesota.

It was an honor to meet this amazing 6th grade class from St. Francis Middle School.

I got to add to their growing list of signatures from governors and lieutenant governors on their prized trophy - the Governor’s Belt.

@smith.senate.gov, they need your signature!

Grateful to see the good folks from Native Governance Center at the Capitol.

In Minnesota, we’re setting an example for what government-to-government partnership should look like.

I joined our partners from Catholic Charities to serve some hot meals at Dorothy Day.

In Minnesota, we’ll keep sticking up for our neighbors in need and the lifeline programs that keep so many out of hunger.

Trust for Public Land is turning asphalt playgrounds into vibrant green spaces to improve student education.

It was an honor to join them for their inaugural summit, and to uplift their amazing work.

This school meal wasn’t just free, it was also nutrient-packed and Minnesota-grown!

Our Farm to School program is supporting the farmers who nourish our communities and giving parents peace of mind that their kids are getting a strong, free meal each day at school.

At the Capitol, we’re celebrating our Latino community and honoring the lives of the loved ones we’ve lost.

It was powerful to see the Día de los Muertos altar and an honor to meet the fantastic artists who made it happen.

Everyone deserves access to affordable, healthy food options - no matter their zip code.

Little Earth Urban Farm is doing incredible work to make that a reality for the Urban Native community in Minneapolis.

We know that when Tribal Nations thrive, Minnesota thrives - and our Tribal Liaisons are critical in making that idea a reality.

Miigwech to all these folks who work every day to ensure the State of Minnesota is setting an example on Tribal-state relations.

Children and families are at the center of everything we do.

That’s why we’ve invested in free school meals, paid leave, affordable housing, a nation-leading Child Tax Credit - and that’s why we just ranked as one of the top states for kids.

During Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Month, I had the chance to meet the parents and pup of Maria Pew.

Since her tragic death, they’ve dedicated themselves to providing domestic abuse prevention and education through Maria’s Voice to create safe homes for all.

It's a good day to be Indigenous.

On the shore of Bde Maka Ska, we celebrated Indigenous Peoples Day - an opportunity to embrace the power, beauty, and richness of our community.

We are resilient, we are still here, and we will always be here in Mni Sota Makoce.

We celebrated the opening of Valiance Apartments in South Minneapolis – a 48 unit permanent supportive housing project alongside a 54 bed emergency homeless shelter.

And those aren’t just numbers – that’s 102 of our neighbors who now have a safe place to sleep.

I was filled with pride to welcome more than 3,000 Indigenous students, leaders, and professionals to the Advancing Indigenous People in STEM conference.

In Minnesota, we’re showing the next generation that they belong in every lab, every classroom, and every innovation hub.

For seven years, Chris Schmitter has dedicated himself to making Minnesota the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

Minnesotans are better off because of his commitment to children and families. Wishing you the best in your next adventure, Chris. Thanks for everything.

Democrats are still committed to taking real action to protect our children and our schools.

The majority of Minnesotans want to see a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Let’s bring it to a vote.

September 30 is day to honor the children who never returned home from U.S. Indian boarding schools and reflect on the impact of multigenerational Native communities.

The legacy of this trauma is felt by many, yet we continue to show resilience in the way we love our children.

I joined Macalester’s opening convocation and it was such a joy to see fresh young faces eager to take on the challenges of today’s world.

It was a profound honor to see the flags of the 11 sovereign Tribal Nations raised on the Capitol Mall - a space that belongs to all Minnesotans.

Each of these 11 flags represents a people, a language, a history, and a sovereign Nation that has survived, resisted, and endured.

On December 7, 1941, the USS Ward, manned primarily by Minnesotans, fired the first American shots of the war.

I joined veterans to commemorate the 300,000 Minnesotans who served in World War II and the moving of the USS Ward Gun to the new Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum.

The senseless act of gun violence at Annunciation Catholic Church and School has devastated our state. Our schools and churches must be safe spaces to learn, grow, and play.

Minnesota is grieving with our students, families, teachers, and first responders. Together we will heal.
