Working at @ZPID, focusing on #MetaResearch, #preregistration & the #reproducibility of #eyetracking. #OpenScience enthusiast! Views expressed here are mine.
It was great being back in Cologne for my #preregistration workshop! I loved a discussion the students and I had on "how can the publication system be so flawed? why do journals have all the power!?" and them being super enthusiastic about #OpenScience!

Incentives are not only an important topic when talking about the scientific incentive structure - it's also important to consider and report participant incentives. Interesting talk by Alessandro van den Berg at the PMGS #MetaResearch Symposium. #OpenScience

@brittawestner.bsky.social is talking about #OpenSource software in academia. There's not enough room for people focusing on this, which is a problem for the development of new software, but also their maintaining (which is especially problematic when others build on your software...)! #OpenScience

Jochem Rieger is talking about ethics of #OpenScience and how it is in line with basic ethical principles of science. However, just the fact that we use open science practices cannot guarantee desirable outcomes, so we need to think about how to best implement them!

They also published a press statement about the WissZeitVG reform, which is so so very important!
July 18, 2025 at 7:25 AM
For example, they published a very cool community paper about strategies to implement #OpenScience strategies (I also participated in that hehe) ✨
