I'm grateful for #1000wordsofsummer for keeping me on track to write a pile of words and launch me into the rest of my summer writing. On Day 9 I'm almost at 10,000 words!

Still emailing the house DOGE Caucus with suggestions for cutting government waste and fraud. This week's suggestions: 1. Limits on Pres. Golfing, 2. No Ads to praise Press., 3. Hire back fired IRS agents to collect more taxes. 4. Hire MORE IRS agents to collect more taxes!

So grateful for this beautiful blurb from my publishing house "sister author," Jennifer Klepper, about my debut novel, Everything We Thought Was True, which releases tomorrow! Only one more day until my book makes its way into the world.

a favorite writing metaphor for me is from the bubbe of an old friend who always hand-grated her latkes, inevitably skinning her knuckles. when asked why she didn't use a processor, she'd say 'they're no good unless there's some knuckle in them'

next year, may your writing have some knuckle in it

#mini1000 Thanks to Jami Attenberg, the midwife or conductor of our collective words, possibly numbering in the millions in its grand total, I met my own goal and came in just over 5000 words for the 5 days. More importantly, I found a tentative structure (for now) that I can use to move forward!

Got my #mini1000 words for the day. Today was hard. The first 3 days of writing were relatively smooth. Today, I began by reading something I'd already written and pruning it. Losing words didn't lead to forward momentum! It took some time to turn it around, but glad I stuck with it.

What do you want for your writing in 2025? My goal is to stay on course with my newest novel, despite the two thousand and fifty distractions that await me. #mini1000

How many people (womenfolk?) away from home for Thanksgiving and discovering they’ve gained hours of mental and manual labor time by not hosting the crowd this year?
