From my recollection of the paper you gave at King's College London a few years ago Godwyn came across as pretty stridently anti slavery! (A great paper btw)

Yes I thought that too. Definitely meets the "major city/polity" test but perhaps not "consistent" as was just father and son. Would be interesting to hear any other suggestions too!

I wonder if the Siddis might prove another, although whether they ruled a "major city" is debatable.
