In my role as APTA Chair, I spent today in DC meeting with staff of the Senate and House Appropriations Committees, Senate Banking Committee, and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to advocate for transit funding and next year's surface transportation bill reauthorization.

In addition to these important discussions, I was deeply honored to be officially sworn in as APTA Chair. The challenges ahead for the transportation industry are significant: securing sustainable funding, ensuring equitable access, strengthening safety, and preparing our workforce for the future.

This week I had the privilege of attending @apta-info.bsky.social TRANSform Conference, where I got to reconnect with transportation professionals from across the nation to engage in conversations about the future of transit -- covering equity, community building, safety and security, and more.

The conference hasn’t even officially started yet, but we’ve hit the ground running with a day full of committee meetings. Special thanks to FTA Administrator Marc Molinaro for joining us for many of these conversations—FTA is a critical partner in advancing transit’s priorities at the federal level
