When a mad dog stops savaging you and starts attacking its owner, one uses the time to arrange the destruction of the dog.

Eventually ... sometimes its ok to enjoy schadenfreude but one should ration one's baser instincts.

James O'Brien makes a similar point - many of the best journalists have already left the bbc. Panorama, Newsnight, AM & PM , HardTalk .. have all been gutted.

What's left is (for me) only worth following on catch up or recording, most of it on fast forward, too often whole programmes deleted.

Trump has no case in law.

If the BBC paid protection money to trump, its reputation as a news source would be done.

A weak argument.

The bbc is demonstrably right wing.

It is not right wing enough for right wingers and proto / neo fascists.

However, it is not aligned to fascism & must be defended. Were it to be recast as GBeebies II we'd all be worse off.

The left needs to recognise this self evident fact.

Margaret Thatcher allegedly slept only 2 hrs a night & she sold our coal, oil & gas fields, trains, mail delivery, electricity & water supply to capitalist speculators.

Spoiler alert: if you're not sleeping enough, you're tripping!

Norway's leaders, however, slept well.

The BBC can't pay protection money to trump. It would open the floodgates to all dictators.

It's not bc the BBC is "brave", it's existential. Bribe one despot & they'll have to bribe all.

It has (today) apologised for clumsy editing for Panorama & if Newsnight in error it will apologise if needed.

We are agreed, then.

Henceforth, TDS now refers to those who defend trumpian "values."

What was their old catchphrase?

Something like "don't judge trump by what he says but by what he does."

One doesn't hear that so much nowadays ... does one?

I don't think you'll be invited to the inaugral trump ball at the WH.

Mind you, I'm not sure if trump will be there either given his age & 'optimal' physical condition ...
