Looking at my autistic daughter and realizing that I shared a LOT of her traits. They just weren’t as expressed as hers. And then realizing that pretty much everything that differentiated me from my siblings or peers growing up were common austistic traits.

In the first season there is a scene where the two worst characters are banging in a bathroom stall. Seeing the kids looking a bit uncomfortable, I announced: "Kids, sometimes when a man and woman fall in love, they sit on the same toilet and poop together."
