📣 New preprint 📣

**Differentiable Generalized Sliced Wasserstein Plans**

w/
L. Chapel
@rtavenar.bsky.social

We propose a Generalized Sliced Wasserstein method that provides an approximated transport plan and which admits a differentiable approximation.

Very happy about this one, a great work by Baptiste Courme, and an old dream coming true : we can demonstrate a violation a Bell inequality just by sampling random polarization states from speckle field.

"Harnessing Optical Disorder for Bell Inequalities violation"
a joint work with Hugo Defienne's team.
arxiv.org/abs/2509.21052

In short : a speckle essentially has a random polarization state at any position, we exploit this to show we can violate a BI.

☀️ Just wrapped up the DeepInverse Hackathon!

We had 30+ imaging scientists from all over the world coding during 3 days next to the beautiful Calanques in Marseille, France. It was a great moment to meet new people, discuss science, and code new imaging algorithms!

And the answer is : whispering gallery modes ! Resonant modes over circular trajectories, first discovered in Saint Paul cathedral for acoustic (audio) waves, but with tons of applications in optics and photonics (spherical or toroidal microcavities)
