I understand W≥.500 as a descriptive stat more than a predictive one. That said, the thing to keep in mind is the quality of the Brewers’ record there is at least partly because of their strength of schedule so far - they’ve played 12 fewer games against teams over .500 than the Cubs

…worse than the Cubs overall. The use of expected hitting stats assumes they’re facing an average defense and the Brewers’ schedule is backloaded, so they probably haven’t yet, overall. I’d expect a good bit of regression over the rest of their season

I don’t get why anyone ever concedes the “Trump has a mandate” point.
Trump didn’t win a popular vote majority - the majority of voters wanted someone else! His popular vote win was the 3rd smallest ever! In no way does he have a mandate
