Retired Boomer Liberal watching history being made while crossing fingers hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
The White House Ballroom addition is sickening on several levels. This is the People’s house heretofore built with public funds. Why is private money funding this build? What is being offered as a quid pro quo? This is yet another affront to the people through Congress and controls what gets built.

Canadians buy 2 million new vehicles annually. Half of those are made in the United States. Surely Canada could manufacture all its vehicles here in Canada, with the help of the Europeans. If Mexico and Canada revised their auto design regulations to match those of the Europeans, .

Joseph Martin, a senator from Maine, insulted Canadians in the usual silly American way of ignorance and arrogance. The reply’s posted by responders are overwhelmingly negative and direct. Reverse the offer and see how many Americans get how we feel. Here’s one response.

I keep wondering when the kinetic phase of the Civil War will start in the USA.

According to the leaders of the Liberal and Conservative parties there is only one issue in this election: Trump for the Liberals, Change for the Cons. They agree! After all, Trump has already brought change, just not the kind we want more of, like regarding Sovereignty.

The peaceful demonstrations against the Trump Regime this past April 19th are notable for the absence of far right counter protesters causing troubles they have in the past. This might suggest a major attack is in the works. We’d never know beforehand.

Next up in the fear tactics, April 20th, Hitler’s birthday, right after the Anti-Trump Regime/pro democracy rallies Ver. 2. on the 19th. Let’s hope that the police don’t start something.

Does anything but survival matter anymore? Overpopulation and unsustainable consumerism have joined with carbon emissions to make Earth a dying planet full of desperate delusional humans. The key to survival will be mobility, either on land or sea. But that path looks like a chore. It is.

I’d like to be on hand to hear DJTs last breath.

Cancel the Trump trademarks in Canada. Freeze Twitter and Tesla’s assets. Remove Fox News. Force Apple and Spotify to delist far-right podcasts pushing for our annexation. Refuse to accept Donald Trump’s ambassador. Expel any U.S. diplomatic staff that threaten Canadian sovereignty. Cory Hagan.

It would not surprise me if Pierre Poilievre as PM would look to save 500 billion in costs for running the Canadian government to solve the deficit. Unfortunately for us that is almost the entire budget, meaning we’d have no government at all. Simplistic solutions to complex issues is his hallmark.

I just watched a CBC interview with Four Canadian Premiers outside the White House gate who came out from a meeting with senior MAGA staff. They all looked shocked and downtrodden, and the effort to appear optimistic was plain. They were told to take Trumps talk seriously. 51st State?

The Trump maladministration is having an immediate effect on Canadian spending patterns. In my family alone members are going to Mexico, Ontario, Japan and Iceland for holidays. All are boycotting American goods. I am not traveling, what with a high USD.

Trudeau was a good Prime minister who weathered and guided during an extraordinarily period in our history. I am however glad not to expect to F@ck Trudeau flags and bumper stickers.

What do you see?
December 29, 2024 at 3:36 PM
Well, Canadians expect you good folks in the USA to fight against MAGA fascists too, on your soil, should your military invade Canada. Outside of the military leadership, few Americans have thought through the consequences of US invasions of Canada and Denmark, NATO countries.

I am Canadian watching my country be threatened and disrespected by the incoming POTUS. The only similarity I can recall is the weeks leading up to the invasion of Poland in 1939 by the Germans. It all makes for an uneasy holiday season.

Just saw news that the Orange buffoon is planning to abandon the free trade deal with Canada and Mexico and impose tariffs. This affront to the world is out to wreck the US economy and ours along with it. Foolish!
