Sampling Altra perfumes today (and for several weeks - these need some focus!). REALLY impressed - focus on sustainability in the packaging and on subtle, genuinely novel compositions where flowers and fruits go up in smoke and hearts are frozen in gothic orris…

Almost impossible to get half the product out? ☑️
Tiny yet impractical to fit in things? ☑️
But soooooo cute and smells good - yep! 😍 this is my fave scent in this line or I wouldn’t have fallen for it 🤣

Awesome to meet @perfumer-pia.bsky.social at Barnes Fragrance Fair, and finally sample her Eau de Boujee line. There’s a floral, a leather, a rose, a resinous one… and my favourite, a Verdant green. All take up space unapologetically. This is the plants reclaiming the land… 💚

#sotd is Altra’s Ghost Flower. Really impressed by this sample set I love 4 out of 5! This is a real subtle beauty - a resinous and gently smoky scent which brings lily to life in a whole new way for me (I usually dislike lily). A hint of guava maybe?? #perfumesky

I don’t often buy a paper but struck to see that today’s Guardian headlines are about institutionalised racism and attacks on Kyiv and Gaza. The fact I am struck by this says it all - why isn’t this reporting standard?

Two more empties! Lankaran Forest by Maria Candida Gentile is lovely but not a rebuy for me - more citrus than forest and I have better. Dusita’s Le Sillage Blanc is an obsession with me this Spring - to me it’s less leather chypre more hay 💛

Easily the easiest to love is Rice Cake. Sweet but not too sweet, utterly comforting. I have some similar things already but this is lovely, especially for the price point

So Maek is fascinating. It celebrates Korean drink Soju, which I don’t know and now can’t imagine. Also beer. It smells like very dry beer with something herbal added. I disliked it and then kept sniffing…

Tambae is probably my second favourite. Slightly reminds me of Dyptique’s Papier. Subtle, dryish, studious. Just a tiny bit scratchy though.

Gay Oppa is maybe the one I was most intrigued to smell. At first I get generic aftershave - concept over execution? But drydown is very soft and more intriguing
