Bill Bolling: "PERHAPS ITS TIME TO WALK AWAY By all indications, the peace plan President Trump is pressuring the Ukrainians to accept is a major capitulation to Russia. This has upset the Ukranians and our European allies. I honestly don’t have a solution to the war in Ukraine, but I do know this - Russia will not agree to any peace plan that requires them to give up land they have won on the battlefield. I hate this, because Russia should not be rewarded for unprovoked aggression against a democratic nation, but facts are facts; and after almost four years of fighting, these are the facts. The only way to change this is to provide Ukraine with more aggressive offensive weapons to directly attack Russia, and that would run the very real risk of sparking a broader conflict. Short of this, the status quo, and Trump’s proposal, may be the best the Ukrainians can expect. If this is unacceptable to the Ukrainians, and I understand why it may be, it is hard to imagine this war ever ending. If this is unacceptable to the Ukrainians, then perhaps Ukraine should reject the plan and go it on their own, with the support of their European partners. Reluctantly, I have concluded that it may be time for the U.S. to simply withdrawal from the process. Perhaps we’ve done all we can do, short of risking a broader conflict. Heres another thing I know - we cannot continue to help fund a war that has no reasonable chance of ending."
