actually, im pretty sure emonzaemon didnt really 'love' princess negative in that way. he acted as her sword because she brought him back after hohoh killed him. he owed her his life, and for him that means he will fight and die for her if need be. even so, it's hard to like her with how cold she is

this war they had could've just as easily ended up with princess negative dead, and shichika understands the nature of battle. it's sorta like respecting the soldiers on the other side of a war. just because you must fight, doesn't mean you hate each other.

shichika was devastated to lose togame, but he never really cared about the reasons for what she did, he just loved her. her rivalry ended up getting her killed, but to an extent that's her own fault. shichika and togame both understand that she brought this upon herself with her ambition.

it also makes perfect sense they'd end up together since they both lost their counterpart and fulfill that role for each other. shichika asked if she hated togame, which she gave an indifferent answer to, but that was good enough for him.

thats fair. i may have a bias because i first watched the anime, and it instantly became my favorite of all time.
and i was kinda confused about him traveling with hitei as well, but it's more that she's following him around, i think. he seems indifferent to it. the ending wraps it up perfectly imo.

its not that they're better left out, but they left in just enough, and i like the pacing more. Sometimes the anime will show you things in a different order, but i think it's better for the pacing every time, except maybe episode 9, i do like the joke in that one tho.

sure! i loved the novels, although i honestly kinda think the anime is the better way to experience the story. you get a lot more details in the novel, but not all of them feel necessary. i actually love the way white fox animated it and adapted take's designs, but there are times where its lacking.
