The Unsubdued

To the will I have added the deed;
The best that was in me I’ve given,
I have prayed, but the gods would not heed.
I have dared and reached only disaster,
I have battled and broken my lance;
I am bruised by a pitiless master
That the weak and the timid call Chance.

Hope Is Not a Bird, Emily, It’s a Sewer Rat

by Caitlin Seida

Hope is not the thing with feathers
That comes home to roost
When you need it most.

Hope is an ugly thing
With teeth and claws and
Patchy fur that’s seen some shit.

90 minutes until the #p4a officially begins. We've already raised over $560,000. Can we get to $600k before we actually start?!?!

p.s. Now is a great time to visit projectforawesome.com and vote for the charities you want us to support. Half the money raised will go to charities chosen by YOU.

Colorado friends, here’s an easy way to support the King Soopers strikers in this bitter cold -hand warmers!

If you ski, board or just live here long enough, you have a stash of them somewhere. Those packets of warmth make a big difference for workers just like they showed up for us during COVID

I know. Me too.

Call your reps--this gives you their numbers AND a script. I promise doing something, even this small thing, will make you feel better than not doing it.
Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.

Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.
