First foray into doll-making. The scale is a little too big for a box I have picked out to hold the doll I want to make so this one will be a test bust, so I can try out painting and gluing on hair.

Painting progress. I started color glazing tonight. I realize I made the dirt way too yellow. Gotta fix that. I had reference photos but got caught up in what I thought it should look like.

Painting progress. I realized without an overhead sun there wouldn't be dappled sunlight (this is just before sunrise) so I changed the light spots to holes for the "screaming faces." Too obvious?

Tonight's creation: miniature eggs! Eggscept I didn't count the spaces in the carton so it holds only 10 eggs, not a dozen! Oopsie! 😆

Doing some self-work this morning. Writing my Morning Pages (ala #theartistsway) I keep seeing this phrase -- Give Yourself Grace. It's been on my mind lately. I've been feeling down lately with many things weighing on my mind, and I realize I need to give myself Grace -- to fail, to mourn.

Another older sketch. Hands have historically been a struggle to draw, and now my hands are struggling TO draw. Go figure! Got a referral to a hand specialist today. I suppose nearly 20 years of daily computer work has not been good for me. I want to be able to paint and draw without discomfort.

Tonight I sketched out my scene on a large canvas and started the acrylic underpainting. The smaller test painting is the reference! I didn't finish coloring it. I'm just going right for the larger one.
