Audio books are a form of story telling. Which is a different method of digesting the written literature.

Reading is a skill. Active Listening is a skill.
The outcome for both actions is the same.

I don’t have kids yet, but I have totes full of my old VHS tapes, and my favorite childhood books saved for them.

I use those websites to read the first few chapters, and if I want to continue the book I’ll buy a physical copy. I have a decent collection of books where I read the first chapter and never touched it again. This helps eliminate that problem before I spend my hard earned money.
