̶W̶i̶n̶e̶ Age improves with ̶a̶g̶e̶ wine
I would hope that the content from the Times, Journal, WP, etc. is critically processed by readers. In this case I would agree with your “poisoned apple” assessment. Why do you now have to take a bite? Can’t you decide that since it is rotten to throw it away?

Do you need to delve when someone is talking about the anti-Christ and global government? Anyone can position themselves as smart in 30sec. However for idiocy like this just let them prattle on.

I'm confused how Thiel, Andreessen, etc are the great thinkers of our times based on these interviews. They seem to be totally focused on their personal interests which they seem to conflate with society as a whole.

How do you draw the conclusion that The Times supports Thiel? Douthat is clear, his podcast is to delve into the "thinkers" / influencers of the new right. I find it enlightening listening to these guys.

Assuming that number is just inference and does not include the model training?

That is the right priority. Most of my commute is on a train / by foot so navigation is not as important.

If you are tied to a desktop it is easy to have the audio content automatically transcribed for reading or summarization.

An advantage to podcasts is that you are not tied to a desktop / screen which allows flexibility to consume content while in motion. A reasonable podcast app will also give you controls on listening speed etc. Content still needs to be good which is a skill.

The data points more to Walmart / big box stores killing the local physical retail. There are lots of things that you can point to Amazon changing but the data does not support this thread.

I believe we are currently focused on the “woke” virus. Once we have eliminated it the rest of the viruses will fall in line.

This is only going to work in very specific circumstances. Complex supply chains means a small component(s) manufactured in Canada, gets installed in a car assembled in the USA. Car then goes to a dealer. Exposing the car is now more expensive because of that component(s) is too complex.

DEI is broader than just race/gender. We worked through this at a prior company and the bias we discovered was tendency to over-index on a small set of schools for new hires. This was based on past success. The indirect repercussion of this was a fairly similar set of hires year after year.

I think that this is Altman etc. being strategic. Let Trump take the credit and they quietly continue with existing plans. Small price to pay to keep him out your shorts.
The democrats can learn something from this. They still suck at marketing their wins.

Look at videos / writing of Musk from 10+ years ago. He is obviously a very smart person. Unfortunately it seems like his success has evolved into a god complex, thinking that because he is a smart engineer he is smart at everything.

Would that not imply that those areas have high vacancy rates and high prices? Where I live vacancy averages around 7% which has a direct impact on pricing. All the Victorians in my neighborhood do not need to be saved. There is a middle ground between preservation and stagnation.

Lewis is a phenomenal driver, but also seems to be a genuinely nice person. He uses his platform to promote some important topics that it looks like he truly believes in.

There is a workable middle ground. SpaceX has innovated on optimization (reusable rockets etc.) but from a space discovery perspective they are replicating what NASA has already done. I'd be surprised if a commercial company expands exploration. That will still require governments.

Musk put about $100mil of his own money into SpaceX in 2012. He has a very high tolerance for risk. I do not think it is fair to downplay the significant positive impact he has had on Tesla and SpaceX. What is also true is that he seems to have evolved into a super troll.

There is a difference between running for president and being president. If the sentiment that he was too old to run for president was present with democrats, how do you convince an independent or low information voter otherwise? If your responses continue to be personal don't bother responding.

Most of us have direct experience with aging family members. The story that the WH has trying to sell "Ignore what you are seeing, he is not old" is what needed to be called out. Biden passed great legislation but you need people to trust you if you want to sell the message.
