Is it a bordello? 😱

Very sorry to hear that. It’s horrible, doesn’t discriminate at all.

2 shampoo washes and conditioner to restore her to loveliness!

Incredible, that must have been hard at first. I managed to get away without one and have to admit I was relieved - but needs must, don’t they?!

OMG, someone I worked with had that - no previous symptoms at all, but a critical emergency op in the middle of the night. It was touch & go for her but she came through with a stoma, which was reversed after a year or so. Frightening!! Mine built up over several years. Very glad you’re ok too ☺️

Thank you! They were great, every single one, from the ward auxiliaries who brought me cups of tea, to the nurses, to the consultant surgeon, anaesthetist and other theatre staff. We are lucky to have them ☺️

Thank you ☺️

It’s mad when you think about it! Thank you - also the relief was massive when the consultant confirmed that I should not need another colonoscopy again! That hideous bowel prep and then agony of the procedure because of the extent of constriction. Happy that all is well with you ☺️

Our NHS may struggle to meet demand at times, especially in A & E (accident and emergency) but it remains a wonderful thing, completely free at the point of access (we pay taxes and national insurance of course). Working adults pay a flat fee for meds per item, but nothing else.

No, not Crohns - but I did have constriction due to inflamed diverticulitis. Thank you - glad you have had such a sustained recovery!

Life can be very unfair. Hopefully you’ll have a good and quick recovery. If there’s anything you want to ask, I’m here

I stuck to a bland diet for a few weeks, slowly reintroducing foods with more fibre. Your bowel needs to re-learn how to work. Post op pain was under control with paracetamol and codeine, slowly decreasing. You won’t regret it ☺️

I can honestly say that my quality of life has improved immeasurably! Don’t try to do too much too soon, but a little bit of exercise each day will help (even just walking round the house at first). Do your anti clotting jabs, wear compression socks. Sleeping is tricky - lots of pillows!
December 6, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Same to you - I was fortunate as there was nothing cancerous but severe inflammation and constriction of the bowel. Keyhole surgery and no need for a stoma.

Sooo many colds about. I have been snorting Vick’s First Defence for the past 10 days now, first 4 hours in a car with mucus filled daughter, Nana duties yesterday with a snotty but cheerful toddler and now Mike snorting his way through the night next to me. Hope yours is short-lived 🤧 xxx

Hope you had a decent night’s sleep after the traumas of yesterday and are feeling rested? x

Sounds like you’ve been going through it 🙁 Sending love xxx

Obviously for me, the date is carved on my brain (as well as my colon 😂) but the year has flown past! xxx
