It's great to see this project advancing. I remember when the model was tested in our Large Area Basin. I am glad to see this will provide Calgary protection from extreme flood events.
After over a decade of hard work, the Springbank Reservoir is now operational. This project will protect over 1.3 million Calgarians and many Albertans from future floods.
Congratulations to all who made this happen. Let's continue working towards effective flood mitigation in the province!

Too often we like to take the brut force approach which is hard on nature. More efficient salting practices can help to protect our waterways.

In reflection on the events of December 6, 1989 I can not help but realize that we hear the name of the perpetrator more often than those of his victims. I believe that Jacinda Ardern had the right idea when she vowed to never speak the perpetrators name in response to the Christchurch shootings.

In case you are wondering why we can't get emissions under control here is a reminder. Humans have infinite desires but finite resources.
In swaying popular opinion the media can be an effective rein on power and moderate excess. In these days of weakened media influence we should not forget the important role that they play in our democracy.
