We’ve left Albany-Rensselaer, and now I get to stare at the Hudson for the next couple hours. I’m eager to get home, but I do love this part of the ride.

Love the layover at Albany-Rensselaer, notable for being the station where I get an egg and cheese and large iced coffee every time. I believe that’s why they stop here, despite whatever other excuses they make.

We’re traveling alongside the Mohawk River now in Little Falls, New York, so obviously my mood has improved.

Forgot to set my alarm and didn’t wake up until 9, which is later than I ever sleep in but especially on the train. (To be fair, I did lose an hour overnight.) Left Buffalo a bit ago, and there’s not much to see yet, but here’s proof of life.

This room is definitely more cramped than the last, and I can’t seem to regulate the temperature, but it is still a luxury to have space to spread out! Going to get ready for bed as soon as we depart, since we’re about to lose an hour.

Belated update, but I made it to the not-at-all depressing Amtrak lounge. I’ve been hanging here and working for the last couple hours. About to eat some Sbarro (!) and then should be boarding in the next hour.

Train traffic has us slowing down, but I’m not in a rush to get to Chicago at this point. Plus, I get to watch the trick-or-treaters and pretend that we are passing through Haddonfield.

Took OTC nausea meds and now I’m vibing again, in case you were worried. Probably getting in a full two hours late, which still gives me a lengthy layover in Chicago. I will be lounging in that Amtrak lounge, I can tell you right now.

Less than two hours from Chicago, and I am ready to get off this train. Showering in a tiny space while being jostled around has me feeling quite dizzy, but being on solid ground for several hours will help me regain my bearings.
