Round 5 - Faced 1.b3 and fought through the middle game to get to an equal endgame but gave away a pawn for no reason and the game slipped away from me and lost the endgame. Frustrating but I'll learn! Got 2/5 overall vs players averaging 200 points higher rated so will take that as a win!

Round 4 - Was expecting d4 but faced e4 and faced a grand prix. We castled on opposite sides and was under pressure for a while. I fended him off then managed to get 2 very powerful pawns and the opponent resigned soon after - my first win of the tournament! ( vs player 200 points higher rated!)

Round 3 - Faced a semi slav as white. Got an attack in the middle game and was losing but came but and almost one bit blew it at the end - managed a draw! 1point out of 3 so far. We go again tomorrow.

Round 2 - had a decent position having found my opponent online and looked up what he played. Traded too much and got into a drawn endgame but slipped into a pawn done endgame and I didn't know the technique to draw it and lost. Now on 0.5/2 Plenty to learn from!

Just finished game 1 of a chess tournament I go annually to (for the past 3 years)
Played someone 200 points higher rated and fought and got a draw after a 4 hour battle. Time to get some rest!
