I had a wonderful weekend in Adelaide catching up with my dear friend Joy Wu (not on this platform yet!). There’s an amazing Chihuly Art installation in the Botanical Gardens till April ‘25, highly recommended👇🏻

Our baby girl turned 2 today 🎉🎉! Maya was our first Jack Russell puppy- both of our other JRs were rescued and were 7 when we got them. What a contrast- she loves other 🐶 (we know many more ppl in our neighbourhood now!) & it’s been an enjoyable journey watching her grow ♥️

Sunday 24th September is Int’l Day of the Deaf. Deafness ranges from no hearing to hard of hearing. Tips: 🧵 1/4
1) not all ppl who are deaf want to hear- there’s nothing wrong with that decision
2) sign language is not the same internationally
3) hearing aids are not perfect

Joining here after 4 yrs on another site. I am an Australian Prof who loves nature, baking, reading, diversity, equity & inclusivity. I research blood cells/blood cancers/bone marrow microenvironment (the factory for blood cells). I have profound deafness and recently had 2 cochlear implants.
