Not sure what happened—I can’t see the post or who posted it either. I think Mr. Simon blocked them? I’m genuinely interested in hearing a solid, factual critique of Simon’s police reform roadmap, but I haven’t seen one yet.

My comment regarding "Grumpygirl" was that no factual argument was put forth for defunding the police. The poster simply lashed out personally at Mr. Simon basically saying he had no insight because he was white, older & hangs out with like minded folks. So nobody should listen to him. Quite vile.

I’m interested in how people feel about the police. The quasi-military hierarchy has been around for decades and tends to attract a certain type. Organizational change is hard within the service, but it’s necessary as society’s needs evolve & public trust erodes. The status quo isn't good enough.

Police officers have immense power that could destroy your life. One wrongful arrest - your liberty is taken away & you can't get a job. Simon does argue for the demilitarization of police & that some "crimes" are really social or health related requiring civilian experts.

I attend a weekly bible study group and we talked about it recently in terms of everyone having a "divine gift"..and none are better than others.
