You listen in awe as he recounts his daring adventures around the campfire. You fuck most nights, fingers tracing the ghosts of ribs. While Adam hunts, you stroll through the garden and its woods, pausing under almond blossoms to breathe in their light scent. You walk for hours. Grass and root slowly change to sand beneath your feet. You go right to the water’s edge and a wave greets you.
