I mostly do stylized stuff, helping the team where needed. Hmu if you want to talk shop!
Gosh I wanna try to do this in Geometry Nodes

I don't know. I pictured I'd be leading a team by now. After landing at a mid size indie studio with years of stability, probably one of the best things to happen to my professional life, I ceased to fret about climbing (hierarchy) quickly. I hope above all that you land a good team and $ stability.

Because you deserve to do good work for a good team, and to be fairly compensated for it! That this isn't happening is a problem and I'm sorry, it doesn't make sense.

Of course! And I hope you're not underemployed, or at least if so that it turns around quick. I guess I was speaking more to the idea of "I am obligated to achieve X by Y time", which might not have been the angle you were getting at.

Or even Tidal!

But... not everyone needs to become management, and big studios aren't necessarily better places to work?

I've long lost the taste for prestige. Being of good use to my own team (and fairly compensated for it) is all the reward I really want. And a lot of the best artists in the world do just that.

It certainly looks weird, but I feel like it makes it easier to select the camera?

I wonder if it was a workaround for the camera otherwise being treated as edges without faces when selecting, and for the fact that otherwise in wireframe mode with lots of geo, you wouldn't see the camera easily.

Gonna try it out this week for sure

Interesting! I mean now we have geometry nodes but this addon solution is very interesting!
November 5, 2025 at 10:37 PM
I'm curious if you could explain - is this two separate addons?

Would you be willing to explain how this works and in what way it improves the experience? Is it easy to set up for someone not versed in web tech?
November 5, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Clip Studio tends to fare better with higher resolutions in my experience. But if you want to keep it all together in perpetuity I wonder if a light vector-based app would be better.

Have you ever found instructional resources for his techniques? I'd been watching in awe since almost a decade and never stumbled onto any.

Every *other* time? If I had one you couldn't stop me from wasting my electricity budget on it!
October 22, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I dunno maybe my 3D colleagues are secretly mad at me.
October 22, 2025 at 7:40 PM
I basically only do a clean front, and rough lineart for a 3q back view. Breakaway sketches if I need to explain layering. If your modeler is an experienced artist they can take it away from there! Plus, over time I've resolved that some problems just make more sense to solve in 3d anyways.

We switched to Tidal, and it meets all of our needs, plus better audio quality!
October 20, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Have you tried anything from the Affinity suite? They seem to have a software for publishing, but I haven't tried it

Seems to mostly look good on spheres where the normals have a very constant rate of change, allowing the projection to not feel distorted.

I wonder if baking like this could ever work for a range of shapes, feels like it might require an in-engine shader solution. 🤔

I'm guessing this just uses overlay+threshold?
October 18, 2025 at 6:57 PM
Ditto on it being a blog post as opposed to Youtube clip! So easy and quick to parse!
October 16, 2025 at 4:09 AM
Dope! Great work as always.
October 15, 2025 at 1:42 AM
And the animated tv show? It was so slick!
October 11, 2025 at 4:36 AM
What's the source of this? Looks like it might be a fun read :)
