Great to meet comedy and music expert and total bon vivant/raconteur/ fellow Canadian @pulmyears.bsky.social at my place of work tonight, Second City. I can’t wait to dig into his new book about John Candy!

Just wanted to add - the LUV (let us vote) movement successfully lowered the US voting age to 18. Here I am with my autographed Bobby poster hanging in my office and the “Boyceville, Harrstown” sign from a reading of my musical that hangs above my desk 🥰

I like to imagine Bobby and Tommy in a heavenly LA, running around in turtlenecks, in their own eternal swinging Hollywood Hills bachelor pad, running amok. Rest in peace, Bobby.

I once met Bobby after a screening of the documentary “The Guys Who Wrote ‘Em’ — which deserves wider release. He was kind and encouraging about my musical.

My musical, Joey and Ron, with my collaborator Joel, was hugely inspired by their vibrant depiction of 1960s LA youth culture. Their work also influenced social change through the LUV movement.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Bobby Hart, a member of the legendary '60s songwriting duo Boyce and Hart. Their unique mix of garage rock, country, psychedelia, and bubblegum was a significant musical influence on me.

Just had a great chat with Chris Hall for the This is True podcast, all about writing for Sesame Workshop, teaching at Second City, and more! Gonna air in November. Stay tuned.

NYC is a place where we have to learn to get along with our neighbors and understand that we might not agree on everything, but there is always common ground to be found. NYC remains a shining example for the world. Tonight is a great night.

At the end of March, my best friend Owen and I are debuting our new show GROUND FLOOR 44 w/ The Kinkonauts in Calgary! It’s a direct sequel to our show APT 33 and is about how much we’ve grown in 11 years and how much we haven’t 😬
