Happy new year art post of my OCs. I attempted to colour and shade but honestly, I hated the direction it was going in so I left it as line art, but even then I want to improve on the line art by loosening up it up, not have it so stiff.

Tried some background referencing from 90s Moomins. I still struggle with backgrounds a lot when it comes to making my own decisions on them (when someone gives me their background guide I’m all for it!), I’m sure with extra practice I can actually understand colour theory and textures!

I’ve had a hard time thinking of background ideas for my webcomic project, and I’ve always liked the simple ones with bold lighting and colouring. I watched Chowder recently and I loved what they did with their backgrounds. I think I want to add more details but this is a start, what do you think?
