I try to avoid politics. But stop blaming Trump. He's the MacGuffin. The real threat is the architects behind 2025 and the people who are implementing it. If you want change, play Go, not Chess. It's about territory and a long game. Don't be distracted by the pawn.

When I stop the film & ask them to use the DSM to diagnose a character, they practically kill me.

I make sure they have access via Kanopy to watch the entire film and most of them do.

Best of all, they use those quiet moments to truly CRITICALLY think.

AND READ!

I teach with film & students all drift away if nothing blows up in the first 5 minutes. I used Strangers on a Train for a psyc lesson. At 1st they were not engaged, but as the story progressed they were all in. Amazingly they found that the quiet moments advanced the plot.

Combine films.

For instance, watch The Seven Samurai and then the original Magnificent Seven.

The Hidden Fortress, then Star Wars.

Or films based on books.

I love The Count of Monte Cristo. Try the latest French Version.

Or go old school w/Strangers on a Train.

Or Night of the Hunter.

If you love film, read this book.

It does a very good job explaining the power of film.

It gave us Hans Gruber by way of the magnificent Alan Rickman. Ergo, great movie.

I know every word of this movie by heart.

Maybe it's sacrilege to say so, but it's better, IMHO, than Raiders.

I'm fairly certain my reply won't help, but I'm posting it anyway.

I love film and would suggest you watch an episode of CCF a week then follow up by watching a film referenced in the episode.

He didn't have to read the writing on the wall, he already understood the playbook.
