Throughout this time The Salvation Army has been there during natural disasters, wars and emergencies all over the world. From helping London’s east end community during a cholera outbreak in 1866.

On Founders’ Day, we honour Catherine & William Booth, who began in London’s East End in 1865 with a simple mission: share Jesus with all.

Their bold faith became The Salvation Army—uniformed, active, and open to all. That spirit lives on today. ❤️

The Survivor Support Fund helps survivors of modern slavery train to secure work, aid their wellbeing, and provides practical items for survivors with young children or those moving into their own homes.

Sophie is running the London Marathon for her sister Laura, after losing her last year to a long battle with mental health, and drug and alcohol addiction.

Sophie will be honouring Laura’s memory by raising money for Braintree Salvation Army and the churchs Survivor Support Fund.
