It's not that there is a lack of trials including youth with GAD; instead, the problem is the availability of disorder-specific outcome data. As such, to better our understanding of each anxiety diagnosis in its own right, there is a need to improve reporting and data sharing practices… (5/6)

Following narrative synthesis, we concluded that there is preliminary evidence for psychological therapies increasing chances of remission for youth with primary GAD compared to waitlist, but we can’t yet tell how big this improvement is… (4/6)

Despite our search identifying 134 full texts, only 6 were eligible for inclusion in our narrative synthesis (just n = 217 participants). Three assessed psychological therapies that were tailored to GAD, and the remaining three were broad-stroke interventions for a range of anxiety disorders… (3/6)

We searched for peer-reviewed RCTs of psychological therapies for child and adolescent anxiety disorders. Importantly, studies were eligible only if data were available at the level of each individual anxiety diagnosis, as this allowed us to zoom in on outcomes for GAD specifically… (2/6)
