in my eyes (and quite a few organizations’ eyes) we need to trash this shitty system (that by law isnt even needed to begin with) and go the informed consent route. it works in places where its the standard, so why not do it here too??

if you do manage to get through this maze, be ready to deal with actual idiots with less medical knowledge then a toddler. my endo for example didnt even know what my T blocker was, does not know anything about the Dutch and international standards, and so on….

EXCEPT, some providers (including big genderteams) have a habbit of going “oh you got a diagnosis? anyway we dont care” and you either get REJECTED for further care, or have to do the psych part at their psych ALL OVER AGAIN.. this doesnt even include other problems like hate against enby’s

not to mention that the approach we use here fucking sucks. you MUST go through a psych (one that is generally recognized for trans healthcare), they must diagnose you. then, you you NEED a second opinion, after which they can say “yep youre trans enough”

whats worse is that insurers are actively fucking with us by not having contracts with many other providers that could help reduce the load on the entire system, and with that being down the massive waitlists..
