For the last two years, it was my pleasure babysitting daily for a wonderful family in Washington DC. Today I was told that mom has lost her job at USAID and they won't be able to keep me regularly employed. Losing my job wasn't the hardest part of that conversation though. 1/

To truly change the world, we need to empathize, not agree with, our ideological opponents. Understand their fear and anger are just as real as ours is. Work to soothe that fear and calm that anger within ourselves and in others.
