I love anime, videogames, speculative fiction, internet nonsense and really anything you can convince me to consume. I'm here to vomit my my random thoughts into the internet. Sorry, not sorry
Yes bubble tea and that hug, but since Cheng Xiaoshi was super Not Okay when those happened it doesn't feel like it counts as much as Lu Guang making dumplings for no reason but Cheng Xiaoshi is craving them

I feel like this manhwa in the half dozen chapters really sells the little kindnesses Lu Guang does for Cheng Xiaoshi and why Cheng Xiaoshi would care about Lu Guang beyond trauma bonding. I don't think the donghua sold that part as much as it should have

I wonder if the whole bit about Cheng Xiaoshi having echos of his dives is canon? 🤔 This bit from the manhwa doesn't contradict anything, but it does make the donghua more disturbing and explain why Cheng Xiaoshi is Not Okay

I'm also loving that their fun friendship is back. Thrillers are cool and great, but some breathing space for more of thier domestic interactions would have been great. I'm reminded how much chemistry they have.

This idea explains how despondent Lu Guang is about surviving. No, you can't just trade your life for another person's life. It also makes his wild gambit make sense. That's one place Cheng Xiaoshi was supposed to die.

I think I like this theory because it explains Lu Guang's utter shock when it appears that Cheng Xiaoshi has saved Emma's life. That would have given him hope that it's possible. You can save someone from death.

Thinking about it though, that's probably not it. When you do a loop, the previous you does the loop again not you. It does beg the question is when Lu Guang is jumping back and why.

We're also at the question of when Lu Guang does that leap back. What's strange to me is that he makes his jump after we clearly see Cheng Xiaoshi survive. So perhaps he's doomed to complete this circle over and over again to keep Cheng Xiaoshi alive? That's fucked if true

I think it's interesting that we haven't explored what happens if Cheng Xiaoshi dies while in a loop. Perhaps this is what Lu Guang is attempting to stop?

I see people talking about the 12 hour limit, but that's not Cheng Xiaoshi's limit, that's Lu Guang's limit. There is literally nothing stopping Cheng Xiaoshi from hoping back in time 10 years and living it to the present. It's just that that's dangerous to him and the timeline

I know people like women to kick ass, but realistically if Qiao Ling ever took even one of those punches Cheng Xiaoshi did, she would be down for good. It's already suspending belief a bit that he got up as fast as she did when tossed away.
