-I can only speak on secondhand experience for GVH however, do take my opinion here lightly as I haven't been able to play it myself yet, but from what I've seen about it the characters are one dimensional and written in a confusing and conflicting way-

-this response to the game only shows that you did no actual research into the game, and only reacted out of a surface level delve into it, the game is a PARODY of GVH, not a twisted version of it, the characters are all the same but they aren't just so surface level like GVH writes them-

-Christian values behind it, and concerning Trish (the character I believe to be your criticism of "...written in a way to be unlikeable or gating in any way.") if you finish the side stories, especially those centering around Trish it becomes clear why she is so grating towards the player-

I can tell you didn't research the game at all in the slightest, there are still queer characters, that have compelling stories, and when you take a closer inspection of the game are more sympathetic than you'd think, also the game is free, I've never interacted with 4chan proper, and I can agree-
