The republicans plan all along is kill the ACA and return to the old plans that did not cover shit and did not pay out when you got sick.This benefits the ins companies with huge profits and screws everybody that thinks they had a policy, and the gov does not have to pay out to the starving public.

People need to realize: This is the trick insurance companies pull all the time.If they no longer want you as a customer they raise your rates up so far you can't pay.In this case the companies will revert back to the old policies that don't cover shit. And the republicans helped them do it

Instead of letting the subsidies expire, the Gov should find out why the insurance companies need to raise their rates and why they didn't live up to the original plan. They agree to keep rates lower, the didn't. The Gov agreed to pay subsidies, they didn't.
So we all pay for it.

The way I remember it is that the ACA was going to add millions of people into the insurance game. With millions of new policies, the insurance companies could keep their rates low even with the new expanded coverage. That didn't happen. That's why the the Gov put in the tax subsidies.
