Petri dish photoshoot this morning! Big thanks to Iolo Penri for being patient & taking lots of photos of many Petri dishes! This means I can now properly make progress with my planned series of themed booklets about pathogens.

I know I haven't posted anything here for a while, but I've been a bit busy writing a book about poisons and Agatha Christie. V is for Venom should be out next year.

Throwback to my anatomy-meets-art piece: 'Heart of the Sea' 🌊❤️. A larger wall hanging heart, it's decorated in barnacles, wrapped in tentacles and even features a little starfish. Made in the summer two years ago (and has since sold), it seems appropriate to share on this sunny day!

These Welsh locations are the happiest places to live in Wales according to new research
Two Welsh towns ranked as the happiest places to live in Britain
For many of us being Welsh and living in god’s own country is enough to satisfy the requirement for happiness. However, according to a newly published list, there are two Welsh towns in particular…

I'm working away on two exciting new projects at the moment: the anatomical heart pattern & kit (launching in June!), the other is a themed microbiology one, still very much in progress but hopefully will be launched in July 🤞.

Happy Easter! Petri dish featuring a special colony of microbes: 'Minima ovavirus (Mini eggs virus)'. Seasonally sweeping across the UK, causing fierce chocolate cravings. No vaccination available, but uniquely in the history of disease, those afflicted report high levels of joy & satisfaction. 😆🧫

It's a weird world at the moment so maybe it's important to state that Lost In The Wood has & always will stand for inclusion, tolerance and respect for all people. The narrative that we should feel threatened & angry about small /vulnerable groups in society is cruel, inaccurate & deeply divisive.

Upcoming events: I'm really looking forward to having a stall at the North Wales Contemporary Craft Fair in Oriel Mostyn (Landudno) on 12th July & 8th November 2025 ☺️🙌. Hope to see you there! Lots of other fab artists will be at the six events throughout the year.

I made a willow basket today! Such a lovely course with renowned basket maker Mandy Coates for Siop iard, Caernarfon . It was fascinating learning about all the different making stages and seeing this pretty robust form emerge. Delighted with my basket & the fact I got to use a 'bodkin'!

🌊A reminder that you can see my 'What's In The Water?' piece in the Storiel Open Art Exhib. (Bangor)until 29th March💧🦠. The UK is one of the worst countries in Europe for water quality, with the deliberate discharging of raw sewage into our rivers and seas by water companies...

For #InternationalWomensDay here's a fierce fighter of women's rights, Emmeline Pankhurst, doing her thing in Manchester. Celebrate women every day but on this day recognise we need to keep angrily demanding and pushing for change, to improve the lives of women (all women).✊
