Hoi An highlights: best hotel of my trip - Cozy Savvy Boutique (116 Đào Duy Từ) - staff were excellent, room was fab, about 5-10 min walk from the centre, fantastic and varied breakfast. With so many untrustworthy reviews, it’s difficult to find the genuine gems sometimes - but this is a gem!

Hoi An was a bit full on for me although others seemed to really like the vibe. The unesco old town felt like a theme park - but still there were a few highlights with good food, my fav hotel of the trip, and the ruins at My Son - I’ll cover those in separate posts #vietnam #hoian #travel #reviews

Next stop Hue, and the amazing imperial citadel - I arrived early when it was empty but even later the size of the site meant that it was always possible to find a quiet corner. The most chill place I visited in #vietnam - definitelya highlight! #travel #review #hue

Vietnam railways sleeper train - cheaper than other companies on the same train. The beds were a little less comfy than what we saw of Lotus etc but overall not bad. Watch out for the station staff you tell you left luggage lockers are broken - it’s a scam. #vietnam #travel #reviews

Close to the station in Hanoi, I found a gem: Sadhu veg restaurant (87 P. Lý Thường Kiệt) - there’s a set for all you like from an extensive menu. I left it to the wonderful staff and they brought an excellent selection of signatures! Great for a pre-sleeper train meal! #vietnam #travel #reviews

Temple of literature in Hanoi - impressive temple and offers a bit of a break from frenetic Hanoi although it was still fairly busy. I probably wouldn’t bother with an audio guide unless you are really keen and have some prior knowledge. Definitely worth a couple of hours #vietnam #travel #reviews

Bai Tu Long Bay with Indochina Junk delivered everything that it promised - fantastic cabins, great communal space, a couple of opportunities for kayaking and exploring and good food - very classy experience! #travel #vietnam #reviews
