Running Out of Time was a school book though. We read it as a joint history and Literature class project I think. It's still my favorite to think about, but I haven't read it in a minute as I have never owned it. 🤣 3/3

From what my mom read, I thought all thrillers were mysteries because they didn't specify the type of thriller. My favorite thrillers now are mostly horror, but that is coincidental as I just like horror. Some psychological horror thrillers or fantasy action thrillers~

I am trying to keep track of all the books I've read. Sometimes I get hit with a wave of 'I want to reread that' and I have no idea what the title is, just vague plot 😭

Most thrillers I read because my local librarian recommended them to me in middle school. I was (& tbh am) against mysteries. 1/2

They Never Came Back by Caroline B. Cooney - when you look like a missing girl

Thank you! I didn't realize I had read so many thrillers in middle school xD The definitely did not market them that way, though that might have put me off them.

While the fallout of this information is not followed in the book, as other events happened to them at the time, so the book moves on very quickly, it does quite change the narrative. I did look up the historical events elsewhere and the paper copy is in fact correct.

The audiobook version is narrated very well. There was a script discrepancy between the paper and audio version.

In ch31 at 9 hours and 45 min:
"These sources did NOT turn out to be correct."
was what was narrated, while my paper copy say:
"These sources DID turn out to be correct."

Would def recommend! Also, in a similar type, The Invention of Murder: How the Victorians Revelled in Death and Detection and Created Modern Crime by Judith Flanders. Though that is less written less like a friend conversation and more like an indepth history lesson. 1000/10 though
