Often I find myself criticizing and over-tuning my writing to the point where it can read robotic—would this minimize the effect that ChatGPT would have on my voice? #hwa1 #burningquestion

I like that the classroom expectations and assignment details are laid out clearly so I know what I have to do, while also having a creative element of interacting with a live class to make the experience immersive. #hwa1

I think the classroom expectations of forming a community will definitely add to the experience that is taken away from it being an asynchronous class. I’m excited to learn from my peers and hear about their experiences as well! #hwa1

Definitely true. #hwa1 #wherestuffgoes

False—we cannot post late tweets to bluesky as it would mess up the order of the classroom. #hwa1 #areyoupayingattention

I think the grading rubric and SME scoring scheme seems clear and reasonable. I suppose the only area I’m a little grey on is what the scope of our tweets can be, and what counts as “outside chatter.” #hwa1 #workflowcheck

At first, the 400 tweets/semester requirement seemed daunting. However, upon reconsideration, with how much time I spend on social media, I feel like if I can integrate bluesky with my daily life and actively reflecting on it through sharing it with the class on bluesky, it may actually help. #hwa1

I am definitely excited to move forward with this class, especially after seeing its nontraditional take on what our final project would look like. I feel like the curriculum set gives us a lot of creative liberties to play around with different forms of media. #hwa1 #vibecheck

The third voice is the final project composed of a verbal track and a visual track, composed of all of the SME’s that we created. The third voice beings to speak during an intentional disruption and mismatch of the tracks, indicated by some sudden shift like an abrupt cut. #hwa1 #thethirdvoice

I am most excited to try SME-3 because I am excited to see how the effect or interpretation of “my voice” would change after a visual interpretation. I’ll say I’m also interested to see how using AI in SME-2 would affect the original message of SME-1. #hwa1 #smefeelings

I find it surprising that the emphasis in this class is put on experimentation rather than accuracy—I don’t think I’ve taken a class like this before! I’m interested to see how “my voice” interacts with the different mediums I put them through. #hwa1

Ashley compares GPT to a jester to illustrate how GPT uses humans’ input to essentially produce mockery of it, which can either be inaccurate to some degree, adequate, or in some rare cases something profound that unintentionally challenges our current model of thinking. #hwa1 #jester

This isn’t a traditional writing class because it involves challenging AI, rather than simply using it as a research tool. I do this to understand science topics better when studying, however I use my own logic against the AI—here it seems like we’re pitting AI against itself. #hwa1 #nontraditional

I actually see ChatGPT perform epistemic disruption when studying for my science classes—many times ChatGPT would be completely off the mark, yet its explanation would be tangentially related to the correct answer and thus stick in my head like old gum! #hwa1

From my understanding, the point of using bluesky rather than canvas is to actively engage with a community made public rather than one in a vacuum like Canvas. #hwa1 #XnotCanvas

One thing this course has surprised me with was the live tweeting function. In a way, this pulls back the immersion that is typically lost in an asynchronous course. Honestly I feel like I have to pay more attention to a class like this versus other asynch classes I’m taking. #hwa1 #notthatclass

I’m interested to see how live tweeting will affect my engagement with more long term videos such as this one. #hwa1 #notabot

I support the decision to switch from X to Bluesky this semester mainly because I think it would allow my experience interacting with multiple forms of media to be more authentic and less regulated by artificial systems in place such as the overbearing X algorithm. #blueskyfeelings

The most “me” I’ve ever felt online is probably now, surprisingly. I myself don’t post a lot (if ever), but I’ve noticed that public discourse revolving formerly taboo topics are now shifting into the public light, in many cases educating me on topics I didn’t know much about. #hello209

TikTok absolutely feels like an extension of me, and I prefer it over reels. I think what speaks to me about the platform is its ability to quickly form micro communities around even the smallest of topics or events that, in our heavily digitalized world, feels like a breath of fresh air. #hello209

Lately, I feel shaped by a quote from the narrator of the show “Hunter x Hunter”: “We are no different from the ants… No, we are far worse.”
Especially in modern times, I think this quote is especially relevant. While the chimera ants were violent by nature, our violence is selfish. #hello209
