I missed #FlowerFriday. I'm a hobby dahlia grower and mine are exploding. I love dahlias. Got another 6 weeks of blooms left if frost holds off.

Boy I should time myself. Some watercolors take hours some take weeks. This one was tricky because I needed to get all of those straight lines. I'm going to say 20 hours at least not including drying time. It's a half sheet so very large.

#BlueSkyArtShow theme is pieces. This watercolor I painted has thousands of #pieces of grass. This is Point Wilson Lighthouse in Fort Worden, Port Townsend, Washington which guards the entrance to Puget Sound from the Straight of Juan de Fuca. An Officer and a Gentleman was filmed here. #lighthouse

My latest watercolor "Pollinator Heaven" with a monarch butterfly visiting a field of Zinnias and Lantana. We do have monarchs in Washington state but rarely see them here. I love painting these vibrant pollinators! #BlueskyArt #Watercolors #NatureArt

The Dungeness crabs are tiny and sparse. Hoping this research will shed light on why they have disappeared from south sound. #DungenessCrab #PugetSound

Fellow Puget Sound folks. Have you heard of the Dungeness crab depletion in South Puget sound, specifically marine area 13? It's severe. I volunteer to do the survey at Zittle's Marina in Olympia. We caught & measured our 2nd Dungeness this am (& put back). youtu.be/gGdj5IovrLo?...

My latest watercolor titled "Leavenworth" that I painted on a whim the last two days. I took a photo of this bend in the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth, Washington a few years ago when we visited in October. I love the mist in the Cascade mountains and the fall colors. #blueskyart #watercolors

Painting some of my favorite Washington state spots lately. I took this photo at Roozengaarde last year. I love the snow covered mountains, bright blue northwest sky and fields of brilliant color. www.lorriehallwatercolor.com #watercolor #blueskyart #tulips

Figured out a name for my latest watercolor, "Best Buddies". That's my husband and miniature poodle Toby bringing home a Christmas tree and they truly are best buddies. #BlueSkyArt #SnowyFarmstead #WatercolorBarn

Help me name my latest watercolor please. This is a barn in a forest from my imagination. I debated about putting a deer in the clearing but put my husband and min poodle Toby in it instead. Christmas is Coming? Little Helper? Homeward Bound? #watercolor #blueskyart www.lorriehallwatercolors.com

My latest watercolor "My Dream View". The eastern view from my house includes the boat house. If I walk north on the beach I can see that view of Mt. Rainier. This inspired me to paint My Dream View...if only Mt. Rainier would move a little to the left! 🤣 #BlueSkyArt #MtRainier #Watercolors

Feeling so blessed and lucky to live here. View from my friend's/neighbor's deck during book club yesterday. Warm enough with a sweater to sit outside. #MtRainier #TheMountainIsOut #Olympia #NisquallyReach #PugetSound
