Yeah, 1000%, to all of this. And I'm guessing that their (the misinformed assholes) 'research' is limited to TikTok videos and extremely biased 'I survived!' stories where people are still hurting or just bitter about the person with the disorder. No two people with any given disorder are the same.

ALSO, BPD in men absofuckinglutely exists, and is often misdiagnosed as NPD, ASPD, and/or anger issues. Yes, it can manifest differently between men and women, but it doesn't always. Just as there's different flavors of BPD that are more dependent on one's personality.

Sociopathy, currently umbrellaed under Anti-Social Personality Disorder with Psychopathy (even though there are significant differences there, too), is characterized by "persistent pattern of disregard for social norms, laws, and the rights of others. *offers hugs* sounds like the assholes who equate BPD with narcissism, and they're jackasses. The two are in the same grouping of disorders, yeah, but they're not the same. They have similar behaviors, but the how and why are different. That's just the start of the differences. Empathy's a big one.
