The little 6th century chough’s beak pendant <1944>, found in Kent, would have been bright red when it was originally worn.

These birds are once again flying over the county just this year, following a 200 year absence:

Drawings in progress for an upcoming publication. Blades from Northern Iraqi Kurdistan, c.8000 BCE.

Traces of bitumen – used to attach the blade to a wooden support, making a tool suitable to harvest crops – indicate the shift to plant domestication in the region.

Relics of old play: gaming counters made from worked bone.

From early medieval Lyminge, in Kent. The hollow cylindrical piece (796) was found under a floor, possibly lost during a game.
