Day 7: Lean on those who love us! Know who your people are, build that support system, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. Remember that those closest to us would love to help. It’s a win-win! 7/8

Day 6: Fatigue is real! Listen to your body and rest when needed. Building rest time into our routine can be helpful. It’s also important to let your IBD team know when your fatigue is not manageable. There might be something they can do to help us! 6/8

Day 5: Peer support is powerful! It's helpful with the isolation that many of us experience while living with IBD. This is not a glamorous disease, and surrounding yourself with others who “get it!” can be helpful. 5/8 #CCAwarenessWeek

Day 4: Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself. You know your body best! Try to be kind when doing so. It can be challenging when we're not feeling heard, not feeling well, and exhausted. I do believe that we get a lot more with honey than with lemon. 4/8

Day 3: Keep an eye on your mental health. Anxiety, depression, and medical post-traumatic stress are common when managing IBD. Seeking out an IBD mental health professional can be a huge help! 3/8

Day 1: Stay educated—knowledge is power!

Day 2: Pick an IBD specialist that you trust. Be sure to cultivate a relationship with your healthcare team. IBD is a chronic illness, and open communication is important. 2/8 #CCAwarenessWeek
