Feb 4 was an exciting day in Topeka! My daughter and grandson took me to sign the "Candidate's Declaration of Intention" form. I'll start traveling next week to talk to admin, teachers, parents & students in all 46 counties. I'm looking forward to each one!

I had a great opportunity to meet Sharice Davids today. Although she is the Rep for Dist3, she sits on the Ag Committee so it was important for her to understand the concerns farmers have here. It was a meaningful conversation. She'll fight for what is important to all Kansans!

Rural districts need a voice, but first, I need to reach them! But here's the reality; Dist. 5 is has 46 counties! That means driving 1000s of miles across rural KS to find solutions to problems. Let's do this together. Thank you for donating!

One of the biggest problems we face in Decatur County is aging school buildings & limited funds. So we have to start looking for other solutions. My homework for today is to read an innovative book on public education funding. It's "As Public As Possible" by David I. Backer.
