ICMYI: reported protests in the US in 2025 are almost certainly outpacing protests during Trump 1.0. In March 2025, we recorded significant growth in the number of cumulative events, and also an uptick in the rate of events (# of protests/week).

One of my former workplaces, a STEM-only university that largely served first gen students and foreign students seeking engineering degrees in the US, was literally kept afloat by foreign students’ tuition dollars. I seriously don’t see how schools like that are going to remain open through this :/
Moreover, in California and many other US states, US student tuition is heavily subsidized by tuition dollars from international students. By eliminating this resource stream, the current administration furthers their stated mission of destroying higher education in the US.
